remotely

this was such a doozie configurating. i mean it was simple, but the steps to go about exposing this to the public was a bit mind numbing. as it did not like to be proxied through cloudflare. it relied on the public ip address of the source aka my public ip address. i installed it on an lxc container using debian bookworm. installed docker and deployed the stack from immensely. it worked out just fine and i configured it to my needs. i really like the custom download link, though it is not signed, but it is fine.

i tried hosting this in my cloud server, but to no avail as so far, it only natively supports amd64 systems. i say natively as other people have gotten it to work with arm64, but that deals with recompiling the docker image, and i do not have the time to do that. it was a great idea, but so long it goes. as long as it works, that is all that matters.

i did consider other solutions like meshcentral, rustdesk, and others, but remotely seems to do it well for me.

preserve the moment.
