so this is where it all began. it all honestly started off of a whim, but i am glad that i finally went through with it. i quickly setup my office desktop that was given from a friend like two years ago. i installed proxmox and spun up a few virtual machines. i had a vision to host services of my own. i watched a ton of videos about proxmox, virtualization, docker, and others. so i had a rough idea of what i wanted to do, and this the perfect playground to test and use different technologies.

the whole setup is very simple as i am just running a single proxmox node. my main center of resources went towards a debian twelve virtual machine running casa os. casa os was a very friendly web interface to spin up docker containers and to mess around with containerization.

i will go more into detail on what specific docker services i self-host.
