the main star of the show. proxmox ve. i watched a lot of videos about proxmox, so i knew a thing or two about it. the setup was simple and i had spun up an ubuntu server virtual machine running casa os. a lot of this inspiration came from these channels; hardware haven, raid owl, lawrence systems, networkchuck, wolfgang, tech by matt, techno tim, jeff geerling, db tech, bigbear, david mckone, christian lempa, techhut, awesome open source, and several more.
these channels helped me out a ton, and i recommend checking them all out as they give such amazing video and information about self-hosting, or just tech related content.
anyways, this is the bread and butter, the foundation of my self hosted services. i think having a t1 hypervisor was the best solution, and i am not spending money on vmware esxi. as cool as it is, open source was the way to go, and that is the main theme of my services, they are all open source.
