upon looking at my server, i tried accessing dockge. which was installed in a proxmox lxc as this machine is for testing new technologies and software. it is installed with debian 12. when opening, it gave issues. when researching, others had the same problem. the fix was installing this specific package:
apt install containerd.io=1.7.28-1~debian.12~bookworm

not sure exactly why, but i suppose docker broke within debian 12 somewhere. the same is reported in ubuntu as well.
