using proxmox ve scripts deployment has been such a life saver. a simple script gui, and i can deploy web apps in minutes. as such i did so with zabbix, and it was time that i installed some form of detailed monitoring solution. i use uptime kuma, but it gives basic uptime information, where i would like to see exact stats of certain web apps.
the script was just a copy and paste and after configuring zabbix in the first steps page, it worked like a charm. like all my services, it lives behind my reverse proxy that is all locally accessible. the one thing you have to look for is the database credentials, and that will be generated in the home folder of the root user. so once zabbix is installed, ssh into the server and cat the contents of the text file. and be sure to change the data name to ‘zabbixdb’ as the default is named ‘zabbix’.
i also updated my dashboard homepage to include this and also zammad from the previous post.
